FROM BRISBANE TO CAIRNS 65 NEW C&K KINDERGARTENS NOW OPEN!

An exciting chapter in the 104 year history of C&K occurred on 23 January 2012 with a further 65 new C&K kindergartens opening their doors from Brisbane to Cairns.

This provides families with more access to the world class C&K kindergarten program with almost 400 kindergarten programs in metropolitan and regional Queensland.

A C&K kindergarten program prepares children for school and teaches social and emotional skills as well as emergent numeracy and literacy skills through play based learning.

The 65 new C&K Kindergartens across Queensland is part of the State Government’s $321 million commitment to establish up to 240 extra kindergarten services across the state by 2014.

The team at C&K have been working closely with the Queensland Government to achieve this milestone for the benefit of all children. While the new kindergarten locations were determined by the Queensland Government, upon licensing, C&K is the operator and manager of the 65 new kindergartens.

This means C&K has employed hundreds of early childhood education specialists and provided almost 2000 families all over Queensland with information kits and enrolment packs in time for the new kindergarten year.

Mr Barrie Elvish, C&K chief executive officer said “C&K is looking forward to becoming part of more Queensland communities.”

“The new kindergartens are co-located on state school premises which make it more convenient for families with children that go to both school and kindergarten and will give kindergarten children a better understanding of the school environment,” Mr Elvish said.

Mr Elvish said “With the increased Health Care Card subsidy up to $2,600 per eligible age child per year off the full kindergarten fee and the increases to the SEIFA subsidies, more Queensland families will be able to enrol their children in a C&K kindergarten program in 2012 at no or low cost.”
