NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week is an important time in C&K’s calendar as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and recognise the contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to our country and community.
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians (source: http://www.naidoc.org.au/).
Come and visit us and partake in craft activities and at the following events throughout this important week.
