Family day care
Flexible care for all children
C&K’s family day care schemes offer quality supervised care in the homes of registered care providers. Care is provided to children aged six weeks to beyond school-starting age. C&K works with families, care providers and family day care coordinators to ensure your child receives the best care possible. A maximum of seven children is permitted in any one household and carers cannot have more than four children under school age in their care at any one time. Full-day care and regular part-time care for infants and young children is available.
C&K family day carers also offer:
• outside school hours care
• occasional care
• evening, overnight and weekend care
• vacation care
• emergency care.

Waiting lists
To avoid disappointment, we strongly urge you to contact the service directly to enquire about their specific enrolment and waiting list policy. The type of care options you have to choose from will be limited if you do not plan early. Waiting lists are long in some areas because there are few children’s services so it is advised to book as early as possible.
Fees
Fees vary so we recommend you contact your nearest service for fee information. Parents who are eligible may claim the Child Care Benefit (CCB). It is advised to check your service’s CCB status. For more information contact the Commonwealth Government’s Family Assistance office on 13 61 50.
In-home care
In-home care provides quality child care in your own home. It provides a flexible service for families that require full-time, part-time, roster, on-call, evening, weekend and school holiday care.
Who is eligible?
Families who are unable to access mainstream children's services or whose childcare needs cannot be met by existing services.
For example:
- Parents who work shiftwork or non-standard hours
- Families with three or more children under school age
- Families where parents or the child/ren have a disability/illness
How does it work?
The in-home childcare coordinator will come to your home to assess your needs to ensure a safe environment for both the children and caregiver.
The coordination unit will monitor, support and train in-home caregivers to provide a family -orientated environment.
