Welcome to C&K Kambu Amaroo Community Kindergarten & Preschool.

The first five years of a child’s life are vital in helping form who they will be as adults. C&K knows and understands this very well having played a part in the lives of more than a million children over the past century in Queensland.

We are a high quality provider of early education and care and we are thrilled that you are considering C&K for your child.

Great Start to Kindergarten Pre-kindy Program 2022

C&K has been successful in securing funding from the Queensland Department of Education for the Great Start to Kindergarten Pre-kindy Program. This program provides funding for community kindergartens selected by the Department to offer no-cost or low-cost three-year-old programs in terms 3 and 4 in 2022.

To be eligible for the funding, children need to have turned three by 30 June 2022.

Kambu Amaroo Kindergarten is offering a Pre-kindy in a kindergarten program for three-year-olds in terms 3 and 4, 2022.

Please contact the National Translating and Interpreting Service to support families with enrolments, inclusion, and medical needs forms. This service provides clarity to help remove language barriers that impact the child's needs.

Pre-kindy in a kindergarten program

Three-year-old children will attend the existing high-quality community kindergarten program alongside four-year-olds, which will complement and extend children's learning at home. It also provides learning opportunities that are not always readily available in a home context – including building relationships with teachers and learning to cooperate with peers in a group environment.

Attending this program in terms 3 and 4, 2022 will provide children with opportunities to learn alongside older children and provide an individualised and developmentally appropriate approach.

Please contact us for more information or to enrol and secure your child’s place.

To enrol at this service the following options exist:

  1. Enrolling immediately - please contact the Service Director (on the telephone or email listed above) to determine if a place is available.  If a place is available and there is no current waiting list, the Service Director will assist you to enrol your child immediately.
  1. Placing your child’s name on a waiting list - If a place is not currently available, the Service Director will ask if you would like to place your child’s name on the waiting list and / or assist you with identifying alternative C&K services where vacancies may exist.  Please complete an online waitlist form for this service.  C&K branch services do not charge a wait list fee, however some C&K affiliate services do charge a wait list fee and this varies from service to service.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
