Operating Hours and Groups
At C&K Bluewater Community Kindergarten, we have two models of delivery for families to choose from. Both programs ensure children receive the same number of hours of education across the year. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.
- Group 1A: Monday, Tuesday, and alternate Wednesdays, 8:22am to 2:30pm
- Group 1B: Thursday, Friday, and alternate Wednesdays, 8:22am to 2:30pm
The groups comprise a maximum of 22 children and are supported by an experienced and qualified teacher and educator.
Location
C&K Bluewater Community Kindergarten is located Bluewater in North Queensland just 30 minutes drive north of Townsville city centre. The kindergarten is situated on the Bluewater State School site, in a lovely bushland setting on Buckby Street.
Welcome
Welcome to C&K Bluewater Community Kindergarten. We offer quality education and care for children aged in the year before they attend Prep. We offer a play-based program where your child will learn and develop many skills and concepts while developing meaningful relationships with their peers, educators and the world around them. We are located on the Bluewater State School site, in a lovely bushland setting. We offer indoor and outdoor environments that are beautiful and natural with many opportunities for learning.
Our kindergarten operates with one full time director/teacher and one assistant educator. Michelle is our director/teacher and has a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a Cert IV in training and assessment. She has 28 years experience in the early childhood field. Shenay is our assistant educator who has completed her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. She has worked in the Early Childhood Sector since 2015.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at C&K Bluewater. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Bluewater. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.
