What is childcare?

Quality education and care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, for up to 12 hours per day.

With 40 childcare centres across Queensland, we are embedded in the communities and partner with families to be an extension of your home.

Our team of dedicated educators and teachers nurture and support children to learn, play, grow and flourish. C&K childcare centres offer quality education and care programs where we focus on a unique infant and toddler approach, as well as delivering a government-approved kindergarten program for 4 year olds.

Best of all, we provide flexible booking options where you can choose the hours of care to suit your family.

Why choose C&K

We’ve been learning, playing, and growing alongside Queensland children for over 115 years.

C&K is Queensland’s largest early childhood education and care provider, and is known for large, natural outdoor environments and inviting indoor spaces.

Our centres provide a nurturing, engaging and stimulating education and care, where our dedicated teaching professionals understand the importance of the early years in assisting children to develop, and have the knowledge and experience to ensure they reach their full potential.

Infant and Toddler Approach

C&K has developed an infant and toddler approach which informs the way we build relationships, care for and engage in learning with our babies and toddlers.

Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each baby or toddler.

C&K educators in our childcare centres across Queensland focus on this approach to provide for and develop a program that meets the needs of each individual child and family.

Babies are naturally interested in the wonder of the world - and we love to wonder with them.

Kindergarten Program in Childcare

Each of C&K’s childcare centres delivers a government-approved kindergarten program for eligible aged children within the childcare program. Kindergarten, also known as preschool or pre-prep, is a structured, play-based program led by a university qualified teacher for children in the year before they attend prep at school.

The program, which runs for at least 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per calendar year, focuses on helping children develop a wide range of essential skills and prepares them for their transition to school.

Childcare Fees

As a not-for-profit organisation, we aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Childcare fees for C&K childcare centres are different for each centre and are available to view on the centre’s web page. Fees are updated every year in July. All C&K childcare centres are approved for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which means you may be eligible for CCS. This subsidy is paid directly to childcare services to assist families with their childcare fees.

All eligible-age children accessing a government-approved kindergarten program at a C&K childcare centre are eligible for 15 hours per week for 40 weeks (up to a maximum of 600 hours a year) for free in addition to CCS.
