Welcome

Welcome to C&K Bradman Street Community Long Day Care Centre

Our wonderful service has been open to the community for over 21 years. Families and children are able to develop a sense of belonging in our friendly home like environments. C&K Bradman Street follow Building waterfalls a play based curriculum which allows for learning in a variety of ways across all areas of development and embraces children's natural curiosity to engage and learn within their environment.

Children develop understandings within natural environments made up of established gardens, beautiful shade trees, vegetable and flower gardens and sustainable practises such as waste streaming, worm farming and composting.
Our centre has strong community connections with various organizations as well as both state and private schools. We also hold regular family events through out the year.

Come in and see what makes C&K Bradman Street so wonderfully different.

From the 19th January 2015, we will be supplying nappies to all children in our Nursery and Toddlers rooms as well as to children who are still toilet training.

Queensland Government Approved Program

We offer a unique kindergarten program based on our own internationally-recognised teaching guidelines - ‘Building waterfalls’. Our government-approved program is centred around a living and learning community that values children as competent and capable individuals. This play-based curriculum helps children to socialise, build confidence, and develop communication and early literacy and numeracy skills to ensure your child is school-ready.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Bradman Street. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Bradman Street. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for, and educate our youngest children at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach which we have developed is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

Usually C&K offers places at our childcares on a first come, first served basis.

  1. Enrol now - please call us on 5498 3542 or email us to see if there is a place for your child.
  1. Enrol later - please click "Enrol online" button above to add your child's name to our list.  You will be redirected to an external website, where you will need to create a login and password and complete an online form. You won't be charged a fee. We will contact you when a space becomes available, by the date you added your child to our list and whether your child has been identified as a priority by the Australian government.

C&K has developed a Birth to Three approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcares feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.
