Welcome

Welcome to C&K Bradman Street Community Long Day Care Centre

Our wonderful service has been open to the community for over 27 years. Our children and families develop a strong sense of belonging as they build relationships with our educators within our friendly home like environments. C&K Bradman Street allows for learning in a variety of ways across all areas of development and embraces each child’s natural curiosity to play and discover.

Children develop understanding and knowledge within natural environments made up of established gardens, beautiful shade trees, vegetable, and flower gardens; in addition to sustainable practises such as waste streaming, worm farming and composting.  We also undertake bush kindy excursions regularly allowing children to experience our changing seasons firsthand.

Our centre has strong community connections with various organisations, as well as both state and private schools. We also enjoy opportunities to host centre functions and be part of events in our local community.  In addition, these local community networks allow us to provide additional support to our families and children.

Each day children are provided with tasty nutritional meals, this includes Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea.  Mealtimes are a wonderful social experience where educators and children are able to sit and discuss plans and discoveries as well as learn a little more about each other.

Nappies are provided for all children who are not yet toilet trained or are in the process of toilet training.  When you are ready for your child to progress to toileting independence, our staff are more than willing to support you and your child on this journey.

Please call us and take the time to come and see what makes C&K Bradman Street so wonderfully different.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Bradman Street. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children.  The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day, while focusing on the emergent learning of individual children in both smaller and larger groups.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Bradman Street. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events; love connecting with local businesses and groups around us; as well as taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each child and their family, this is supported through the allocation of key educators to support both you and your child.

C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
