As a new employee, you will be given training and support to C&K's new revised curriculum "Listening & Learning Together" as well as our infant and toddler approach. We offer an online learning education hub and have a dedicated Learning and Development department which will provide you with access to our online training and courses.

As a not-for-profit organisation with over 100 years of caring for children, any surplus is reinvested to ensure better outcomes for children: meaning we also invest in you, so you can invest in the children.

Centre Directors

Step into a leadership position and run your own centre with the support of an entire organisation behind you. With access to dedicated helpdesks, online resources, training, and a diverse community you can feel supported and valued while you focus on the day-to-day functions of your centre.  

Even with a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Business, Management or related, you will also have access to role-specific induction resources that can help you feel better equipped to take on your new and exciting position as a C&K Centre Director. 

Centre Directors:

  • Are responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre in line with C&K’s philosophy, vision and mission
  • Ensure that all children at our centres are thriving and that our educators are a great team.
  • Work with families and carers to understand the best ways to help their children learn.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with the local community and families.
  • Are responsible for ensuring our service meets the National Quality Standard for early learning and care services.
  • Have a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or are undertaking this qualification while they work.

Our Assistant Directors support our Centre Directors to ensure the success of the centre. 

Assistant Directors

Working in partnership with our Centre Director, the Assistant Director is a valuable member of our teams. As Assistant Director, you will take the lead in inspiring and mentoring our established team to build a positive and enjoyable work environment. 

Assistant Directors:

  • Assist the Director with the day-to-day operations of the centre 
  • Assist the Director in ensuring the service meets compliance obligations
  • Motivate and mentor our established team
  • Build a positive and enjoyable work environment. 
  • Build long-lasting relationships with the local community and families
  • When required, step up to the Director position, sometimes at short notice
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Early education and care

Early Childhood Teacher

Early Childhood Teachers have an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children by providing quality experiences that encourage positive outcomes for children’s development, learning and well-being. 

As a teacher at a C&K kindergarten or childcare centre (with a bachelor’s in early childhood education or equivalent), you play an important role in nurturing inquisitive minds, fostering creativity and imagination, celebrating diversity and creating a safe space for children to learn, explore, play and grow.

Early Childhood Teachers:

  • Deliver preschool/kindergarten programs to children in the two years before they start school.
  • Help children to develop the knowledge and skills that will set them up for success at school and beyond. 
  • Know how to teach early literacy and numeracy and to support emotional development.
  • Understand the importance of children becoming self-reliant, collaborative and confident.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with the local community and families
  • Have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or are studying the degree while they work.

Lead Educator

Just like all our centre roles within C&K, you will receive exceptional support as a Lead Educator to help you grow as an early years professional, with an exciting opportunity to bring your passion and ideas to life through the learning programs you implement.

You’ll be able to work in a collaborative team environment with access to high-quality mentors, ongoing professional development from industry leaders and opportunities to participate in monthly learning and networking sessions. 

Lead Educators:

  • Work with children aged birth to 5 years.
  • Take a lead role in planning the educational program. This means deciding the best way to deliver the early childhood curriculum for the children in their care. 
  • Provide advice and support to other educators, to build an effective early learning team.
  • Work directly with children and alongside their educator colleagues.
  • Create and maintain a nurturing learning environment following C&K’s play-based learning approach
  • Have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or are gaining their Diploma while they work.

Apprentice Lead Educator

Being an Apprentice Educator with C&K, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow with us, to bring new skills and ideas to challenge your knowledge and deliver excellence in early education and care. This is a fantastic stepping-stone into the organisation where you will meet and learn from your Director, Teacher and room leaders, as well as other educators throughout your centre.

You will be given training and support to C&K's new revised curriculum "Listening & Learning Together" as well as our Infant and Toddler approach (for childcare centres).

Apprentice Lead Educators:

  • Work with children aged birth to 5 years.
  • Are mentored by Educators and the Centre Director.
  • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of a quality care and education program for young children.
  • Have a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Commit to studying a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care with the C&K College of Early Childhood while they work.

Early Childhood Educator

Our Educators are the heart of C&K centres, inspiring and challenging our children through age-appropriate learning programs and guided by C&K's new revised curriculum "Listening & Learning Together". They plan and implement developmental programs based on the needs and interests of individual children, while building positive and supportive relationships with children and their families. 

Educators:

  • Work with children aged birth to 5 years.
  • Establish strong relationships with children, to help them feel secure and confident.
  • Plan and deliver activities for children and respond to lots of amazing spontaneous moments, explaining, questioning and demonstrating. 
  • Assess how each child is doing and what they need to support their learning and development.
  • Have a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or are studying for a Certificate III while they work.

Trainee Educator

This is another fantastic stepping-stone into the organisation where you will meet and learn from your Director, Teacher and room leaders, as well as other educators throughout your centre. You will be given training and support to C&K's new revised curriculum "Listening & Learning Together" as well as our Infant and Toddler approach (for childcare centres).

Trainee Educators:

  • Work with children birth to 5 years.
  • Are mentored by Educators and the Centre Director.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver quality care and education to the children with other educators.
  • No minimum qualification is required.
  • Commit to studying a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with the C&K College of Early Childhood while they work.

Relief Pool (casual roles)

Early Childhood Teachers, Lead Educators and Educators

C&K operates a large pool of Relief Educators to cover C&K employees when they are on leave. Work as a relief Early Childhood Teacher, Lead Educator, Educator and Inclusion Support Assistant in any of our centres across Queensland in shifts of 2 hours and upwards.

Work the shifts that complement your lifestyle and commitments and work at different centres to broaden your experience. Our centre team members will support you to ensure that you always feel welcome and prepared.

Relief Staff Roles

 

Cooks and Kitchen Hands

You'll love working in a C&K Centre, in a warm and welcoming environment with a community feeling. We pride ourselves on a high-quality, nutritious and inclusive menu, supporting our children’s good health, growth and development. 

Cooks and Kitchen Hands:

  • Are responsible for planning, preparing and serving meals for children at C&K centres while meeting and adhering to high expectations of quality and nutrition. 
  • Form relationships with the children and their families and use creativity to develop a great culinary experience.
  • Are supported by our Kitchens Operations Supervisor, from C&K Central
  • No minimum qualification is required (food handling certificate preferred).

Clerical Assistant

As an administration clerical in a C&K centre, you will be given training and support to assist you with your onboarding. Enjoy a welcoming team in natural working and learning environments – and feel connected to the local community. 

Clerical Assistants:

  • Assist the centre with matters of an administrative and financial nature, such as creating and maintaining child enrolment records and waitlist information, data collection, processing transactions, file maintenance, retaining accurate attendance records for children, and generating reports. 
  • Provide a helping hand in the centre’s day-to-day operations, which might include greeting children and their families in the morning or assisting with centre activities. 
  • Have access to professional development and career progression opportunities
  • No minimum qualification is required.

Support Office Roles

The team at C&K Central Office provide a range of support services to our centres. Join the team at C&K Central Office in Brisbane or one of our remote opportunities throughout Queensland and get an exciting behind-the-scenes look into one of the largest non-profit kindergarten and childcare providers in Queensland.

At C&K we have a range of positions that offer experiences both specific to the Early Childhood Education and Care sector or to your previous expertise (if outside the sector).

This includes a diverse range of teams including (but not limited to) Finance, Information Technology, People and Culture, HR, Wellbeing and Inclusion, Marketing and Communications. These teams are committed to supporting our centres.
