Kindergarten program details
At Dysart Kindergarten, we have four kindy groups to choose from. All groups ensure children receive the same number of hours of education across the year. The groups have a maximum of 22 children and are led by an experienced and qualified early childhood teacher. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.
- Group 1 (Seahorse): Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays, 9:00am to 2:00pm
- Group 2 (Dolphin): Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays, 9:00am to 2:00pm
Free Pre-kindy Program
Dysart Kindergarten offers a subsidised pre-kindy program for three-year-olds in terms 3 and 4, 2024. To be eligible for this program, children need to have turned three by 30 June 2024.
Your three-year-old child can attend Dysart kindy's high-quality community kindergarten program alongside four-year-olds. Attending kindergarten provides learning opportunities for your child in a safe and nurturing environment, including building relationships with teachers and growing their confidence and social skills to engage with other children.

About our kindy
Welcome to Dysart Kindergarten. Dysart Kindergarten is a single unit community run centre affiliated with C&K. It is celebrated for its grounds and beautiful outdoor play area. Children enjoy playing and learning in our sandpit, in the rocky creek bed, on the wooden fort, on the obstacle course, in the tunnel and with the water pump in our digging patch. These areas are designed to allow children to explore, pretend, reflect, run and play.
We are a well resourced Kindy, with fantastic toys and learning equipment for indoor play sessions as well. Inside, children create beautiful artworks, play imaginatively with their friends, construct, play with literacy and numeracy concepts, dance and sing.
C&K Affiliated Centre
As an affiliated centre of C&K, Dysart kindy receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association, managed by a volunteer management committee. Centres affiliated with C&K receive comprehensive support in governance including managing kindergarten and inclusion funding, training for committees and educators, advice, and support regarding inclusion, use of the C&K brand, curriculum approach and resource materials.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at Dysart kindy. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at Dysart kindy. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent input and involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten and programming decisions. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
