C&K Happy Valley Community Kindergarten

Welcome

Welcome to Warekila - Happy Valley Kindergarten

We offer quality education and care for children aged in the year before they attend Prep. We are a dedicated kindergarten so your child will take part in a structured program with other children their age.

Children must turn four (4) prior to 30 June in the year they attend kindergarten.

Operating hours for Warekila - Happy Valley Kindergarten are from 8:20am to 2:30pm, on a five day fortnight program. Doors are opened at 2:15pm and children must be collected no later than 2:45pm. C&K kindergartens are closed on public holidays.  Parents are requested to be at the centre to pick their child up on time. If you are late to collect your child a late fee may be incurred.

Our centre has stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that offer a range of opportunities for children to learn through play. Warekila - Happy Valley Community Kindergarten is a single unity service, running two groups within a 5 day fortnight program.

The staff employed at this service are:
Director/Educational Leader - Andrea Bowcock (Bachelor of Education Early Childhood)
Co-Educator - Rhiannon Forde (Diploma in Children's Services)
Co-Educator - Linda English (Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care)
Administration Officer - Deborah Gibson

The Wombat group operates Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays
The Wallaby group operates Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays

This service has been assessed by the Australian Education and Care Quality Authority and received an overall rating of Meeting National Standards.

Enrolment offers are usually made to families by the Director around September/Ocober of the year prior to commencement.

To secure your child's place on the waiting lis you will need to complete a waiting list application. There is no cost involved in adding your child onto the waiting list. Once completed please return your kindergarten waiting list application form directly to the service, Monday through to Friday between 8:20am and 3:00pm.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
