About our kindy
Welcome to Kenmore West Kindergarten. Our community-based and not-for-profit kindergarten has been supporting families in the area since 1972, with their child’s early learning and transition to school journey. At Kenmore West kindy, we have passionate staff, educators and parents who all work together to create a warm, supportive environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive. Our professional educators bring over 100 years of combined teaching experience and are committed to upholding our reputation of delivering high-quality early learning programs in a safe and nurturing environment. Our educators achieve this by tailoring the kindy’s learning programs to suit the needs and interests of each child, and encourage parent involvement to foster a strong community spirit. What sets us apart is our beautiful outdoor learning environment. We are nestled in a peaceful and natural setting, providing ample space for children to explore, learn and play. Our lush outdoor environment boasts a bamboo forest, mud pit and kitchen, muddy creek, climbing tree, a state of the art playground, thriving vegetable garden and chickens, which provides a range of unique learning opportunities for our kindy children.
C&K Affiliated Centre
As an affiliated centre of C&K, Kenmore West kindy receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association, managed by a volunteer management committee. Centres affiliated with C&K receive comprehensive support in governance including managing kindergarten and inclusion funding, training for committees and educators, advice, and support regarding inclusion, use of the C&K brand, curriculum approach and resource materials.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at Kenmore West kindy. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at Kenmore West kindy. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent input and involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten and programming decisions.
