Welcome to C&K Parkhurst
At C&K Parkhurst Childcare Centre, we welcome children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old and provide care and early learning five days a week from 6:30am to 6:00pm.
As a home away from home, our environment provides feelings of being safe, secure and supported while in the care of our qualified educators. At C&K we support our team to nurture play-based learning, develop caring relationships with children and our families, and foster a life-long love of learning with every child in our care.
Our service has a combination of both age-based rooms and communal learning spaces where siblings and children of all ages can come together to learn and play. The large outdoor area is designed to take advantage of the natural environment and encourages children to explore, discover, play, and engage in nature.
C&K childcare centres offer quality education and care programs where we focus on a unique infant and toddler approach, as well as delivering the approved kindergarten program for four year olds. Best of all, we provide flexible options where you can choose the hours of care to suit your family.
C&K Parkhurst is located on Yaamba Road with access off 4 Mason Avenue. The centre is a 2 minute walk from Parkhurst State School which is also located on Mason Avenue.

Infant and toddler approach
At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Infant and Toddler approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child to allow them the opportunity to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.
Kindergarten program in childcare
Each of C&K’s childcare centres delivers an approved kindergarten program for eligible aged children within the childcare program. Kindergarten, also known as preschool or pre-prep, is a structured, play-based program led by a university qualified teacher for children in the year before they attend prep at school. The program, which runs for at least 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per calendar year, focuses on helping children to develop a wide range of essential skills and prepares them for their transition to school.
Flexible booking options
At C&K we appreciate that each family is different with individual needs. We offer flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising out-of-pocket costs. We have three options available, a full day, 9-hour session or 10-hour session. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, they do not have set start and finish times.
Child-led learning
At C&K each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.
Community spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
