We welcome and respect the uniqueness of each child and their family. We endeavour to make all children and their families feel welcomed and appreciated. We affirm and foster meaningful partnerships with families and the local community. We embrace the heartfelt belief that all children have the right to be treated with loving kindness, dignity and respect.

Ravenshoe Kindergarten aims to provide each and every child with a safe, nurturing, flexible learning environments based on free and self initiated play. Our Educational program aims to allow opportunities to develop self-esteem, independence, curiosity, creativity, cooperation, friendship and tolerance.

The staff at Ravenshoe Kindergarten would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children and families attending Kindergarten this year. We hope that your Child's year here with us is a very happy and exciting one for all of us as we work collaboratively in helping your child develop a natural curiosity for learning and a sense of belonging and self confidence. At Ravenshoe Kindergarten we offer a unique, educational program that supports your child to develop socialisation, communication and early numeracy and literacy skills under the guidance and care of our Early Childhood teachers.

Our team records how your child learns, interacts and participates so that parents and families can share in and contribute to their child's ongoing learning journey.

Ravenshoe Kindergarten's staff look forward to meeting you.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3 year old children can attend.

C&K’s kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation – for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

All C&K centres feature Listening and Learning Together: The C&K Curriculum Approach, which complements both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), and embraces the vision that all children experience learning that is engaging, inclusive, and builds self confidence and self-esteem. EYLF identifies five Learning Outcomes as fundamental to the wellbeing, engagement, and success of all children:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

The National Quality Framework (NQF) is designed to deliver higher standards of education and care in the areas that impact on a child's development. Ravenshoe Kindergarten gives children the best start in life and learning through positive learning outcomes and works in partnership with families and communities.

Our approach continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families, and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We have designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play, and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children’s play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored to and meaningful for your child.

Your child’s learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child’s educators and through written documentation in your centre.
