Welcome

At C&K Salisbury Kindergarten we offer an indoor/outdoor, developing play based program which follows the interests and situations which attract and engage children.  Our program is built upon C&K's education program Listening and Learning Together: The C&K Curriculum Approach.

Our Kindergarten environment is built around large, open spaces which provides opportunities for multiple modes of teaching experiences. These spaces are established to facilitate both moments of intentional teaching and spontaneous incidental teaching.

We believe children are innately capable and competent and come to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our role is to encourage children to extend their relationships, knowledge, competencies and curiosity through our engagements, environments, experiences and partnerships with families so that children are excited about learning and physically, emotionally, socially and competently prepared for the transition to school.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Salisbury Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Salisbury Community Kindergarten. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).

Am I eligible for the Kindy Plus or Family Tax Benefit subsidy?

Subsidies are funded by the Queensland and Australian governments.  All children of eligible age (turning at least 4 by June 30 in the year they attend kindy) are eligible for a subsidy of $1,500 per year.

Please visit the Kindy savings website and select sessional kindy for Step 1 to check your eligibility for the Kindy Plus and Family Tax Benefit subsidy.

You will need to show proof of your eligibility when you enrol, which will differ depending on the subsidy you are eligible for.

What if I want my 3 year old to go to kindergarten?

The subsidies do not apply for 3 year old children, and the daily fee will differ.  If there are places available, we are happy to have 3 year old children at kindy and attend for 2 years.  Please contact us on 07 3277 1624 for more information on fees for 3 year olds and to discuss your child and your family’s situation.

I have more questions.  Who can I talk to?

As a not-for-profit, we aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies.  Please visit our Kindergarten Fees Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.  You can also read more about C&K’s fee policy here.

If you have any other questions, please contact us on 07 3277 1624.
