Welcome
Welcome to C&K Springwood Community Kindergarten. Our Kindy has proudly supported our community for over 45 years, offering local children early childhood education in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Our high-quality educational program is delivered by two university educated early childhood teachers and assisted by qualified and experienced educators.
Our team are dedicated to the children and families who make up our Kindy community each year and our learning program benefits greatly from the depth of experience and professional expertise that each teacher and educator brings.
Our community
We acknowledge and embed the Indigenous perspectives of the Yugembeh people, the traditional owners of the land our kindergarten sits on.
We create a positive environment where children and families feel welcome and have a sense of value and belonging. We respect parent ideas and practices and welcome collaborative decision making with families.
Our educators honour diversity and the many cultural ways of being, seeing and living. We value and respect each family’s heritage and background. We value equity and inclusion and recognise each child’s diverse ways of learning.
We build successful relationships between families, schools, community agencies and support services to facilitate positive transitions to school for all children.
We believe that…
- Children are capable and resourceful learners with unique skills, talents and abilities
- Teachers can encourage children to reach their potential through positive social interactions, responsive teaching practices and by being active contributors in their learning.
- Active, investigative play is fundamental to children’s learning
- A collaborative environment encourages children learn to share, collaborate, co-operate and build friendships.
- We can protect our environment through environmental education and sharing the importance of sustainability by empowering children and families.
