C&K Stones Corner Community Kindergarten Inc

Stones Corner Community Kindergarten overlooks parkland at Greenslopes. Families come from neighbouring suburbs including Woolloongabba, Coorparoo, Camp Hill, Carindale, East Brisbane, Norman Park, Annerley, Tarragindi, Mt Gravatt, Holland Park and much further afield to access our services for their children.

At our kindergarten children learn the importance of caring for the world around us in a fun and practical way. They are involved with the local bush care group and enjoy planting natives in the catchment of our local creek. They can pick fresh herbs and strawberries from the vegetable garden, feed the worm farm with their fruit peelings and enjoy a playground with an abundance of Australian Native trees. They also keep a close watch on the daily activities of our local water dragon population that make the kindergarten their home.
Playing outside is a vital part of a child’s day at Stones Corner Community Kindergarten. With a timber climbing fort, stage, mud patch, sand pit, swings and lovely grounds this is a wonderful time of play and adventure. Our building is leased from the Brisbane City Council and houses a fabulous range of engaging equipment and activities for the children.

Each year a management committee is elected from the parent body. With the support of our staff, the day-to-day management of the centre is the responsibility of this committee. Being involved at this level is a very rewarding experience and a wonderful way to assist the kindergarten community.

Our staff are dedicated professionals who specialise in early childhood education. Our director, Lucy Dodgson teaches Group A & B and is the Nominated Supervisor and the Educational Leader of the service. Lucy is supported by senior assistant, Susan Fynmore, and Silvana Fick. Our assistants bring enormous creativity and energy to the program. Our administrative assistant, Katrina Achilles, is also a valued member of the team.
