Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s
If you're under 25, you're in. Find an employer to take you on as an apprentice or trainee in Early Childhood Education and Care, and the Queensland Government will cover the cost of your training with C&K College. You must commence, or be undertaking, your training between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2023. Your employer will pay your wages, and you might have to meet costs related to any uniform or other training resources.
You must also meet other general eligibility requirements for apprenticeships and traineeships.
What course does C&K College offer that are free to under 25s?
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Traineeship) (CHC30121)
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Apprenticeship) (CHC50121)
Am I eligible?
To be eligible for free apprenticeships you must be under 25 years old. You must commence, or be undertaking, your training between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2023.
Free means the Queensland Government will cover the full cost of training so that eligible students don't contribute to training fees.
However, apprentices and trainees may incur related costs such as uniform and resource costs.
What if I am over 25?
People over 25 can still be a Trainee or Apprentice. If you are over 25 you just need to find an employer who will take you on as a Trainee or apprentice. You should talk with your prospective employer about who will meet the costs of Training.
