Why Choose a Career with C&K

So much more than a job

Discover the benefits of belonging to the C&K family. It’s why so many of our employees come for a job, but stay for a career—because C&K is a place where you can feel at home. It’s why so many employees refer friends and family members to C&K.

At C&K you’ll enjoy a culture of collaboration and respect. Working across teams, functions and the state of Queensland. You’ll enjoy access to some of the most talented people in their fields. Equally, you’ll be valued for your skills and expertise.

Collective success is rewarded and diversity is highly valued. So we’ll welcome your ideas and opinions, trust you to do your job and treat you with genuine respect and consideration.

We recognise that you have a life outside work. We have a variety of flexible working arrangements such as part-time and flexible hours that may be available. We also support family-friendly policies (such as parental leave) so that people can enjoy a work/life balance without compromising their professional development.

You are the difference

Parents choose the C&K philosophy for their child’s early education and care experience because we offer learning through play at all C&K services. We promote a natural environment, resources and equipment and large natural outdoor play areas for children to explore learn and have fun!

We are a not for profit organisation so any surplus funds are reinvested to ensure better outcomes for children. We also invest in you as employees, so that you can invest in children - inspire and provide the highest quality education and care. We know you’re passionate and committed to early learning. We know you are the difference.

C&K’s Return to Work Support Program is aimed at providing support to parents returning from approved parental leave. This is a unique benefit that offers C&K employees a payment equivalent to six weeks' wages or salary over a six-month period, at the time of returning to work. We have put this program in place to help ensure our employees experience a smooth transition back to work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Eligibility criteria applies.

Priority Access to Childcare with C&K

As a family friendly employer, we recognise the childcare needs of our team members who are parents or guardians. That’s why permanent and fixed term contract employees have priority access to childcare in C&K childcare centres. This means you will be placed at the top of a centre’s waiting list and offered the next vacancy.

First Aid Training and Support

C&K’s reputation is founded upon the community’s confidence in our ability to deliver quality education and care services. To maintain this confidence, C&K supports all centre employees who work with children in their primary role through current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification and covers these costs for permanent and fixed-term contract employees. This not only ensures the safety of the children, but also the safety of our employees and supporting their confidence in providing the highest quality of care.

Education Program

We acknowledge that our organisation’s greatest assets are our people. Every C&K employee contributes their knowledge, skills and experience in their own way and it’s always our aim to provide a workplace in which employees are recognised for the value they bring and their ongoing commitment. In consultation with your manager  education assistance will be considered for training and education that is relevant to an employee’s current role. This may include:

  • Short training courses including accredited training
