Welcome

Yeronga Park Kindergarten was established in 1950 and is a community run, not-for-profit kindergarten managed by the parents of children attending the centre.

We believe children are unique, capable individuals with their own story to tell. We are committed to providing children with a stimulating, natural environment. We value time in nature and advocate its importance in young children's lives.

Our Kindy grounds often elicit a “wow” response from visiting families. They are shady and spacious and include a wonderful treehouse, sandpit, and covered play areas with landscaped gardens built to entice little gardeners and imaginative minds. Our chickens love their enormous enclosure and the children who help care for them.

YPK is an extremely well-resourced centre providing kindy the way it’s meant to be, play based and child lead. Our staff are experienced, nurturing, and innovative. They have welcomed generations of children and their families to the kindy. We invite you to come and visit us and see our wonderful kindy environment for yourself.

Don't miss out on a place, waitlist your child today.

Contact us to add your child to our waiting list.  You will be added to a queue and contacted as soon as a suitable place is available.

Our Wait lists are open from birth. The Wait List form can be completed here. Children are offered places in Wait List order. If your child is not already on our wait list we recommend adding them as soon as possible.

You are very welcome to visit the centre at a time that is convenient to you. No appointment is necessary.

We hold an Open Day each year and welcome all prospective families to join us for the morning to view our wonderful facilities and meet our staff. Invitations are sent out to families on the following year's wait list and details are advertised on our Facebook page.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
