Welcome

Welcome to C&K Amberley Community Childcare Centre.

C&K Amberley Community Childcare is located on the grounds of Amberley District State School, providing a convenient and central location for drop off and pick up within our community. A strong sense of belonging within the wider community, as well as within our centre, is something that we strive to support all our children and families to develop.

At C&K Amberley Community Childcare Centre we are passionate about building strong relationship with children. We follow the C&K’s Listening and Learning Together curriculum which supports the belief to allow and encourage children to express their own ideas through play. Our long-term educators are dedicated to providing a high-quality caring environment, whilst supporting your child in their learning and development.

Our spacious playgrounds, which offer established gardens, lovely shade trees, herb gardens, a large sand pit in each play space and a vast array of play opportunities, allows for learning in a variety of ways, across all areas of development and embraces each child’s natural curiosity to play and discover. Each day children are provided with tasty nutritional meals, this includes Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Mealtimes are a wonderful social experience where educators and children are able to sit together to share their meal and learn a little more about each other.

Our Kindergarten room offers the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program run by our fully qualified and experienced Early Childhood teacher. Our Kindergarten Program is subsidised by the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS). We also provide nappies for all children up to the age of 2, whilst they are attending our centre.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Amberley. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Amberley. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and to slow down some more to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
