Welcome
We are a two unit Kindergarten with classes of 22 children. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful Kindergarten where the children are respected as competent capable thinkers, planers and decision-makers. They are active participants in their learning journey and the adventures they go on are endless.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians of the land on which we play, the Yugembah people, educating children about Indigenous culture through traditional stories, music, visual arts and group discussions.
We pride ourselves on our connection to the natural environment, our relationships with families and the community, the inclusion of and celebration of all cultures including some Te-Reo Maori culture and education.

At Coomera Community Kindergarten we believe in children being competent capable learners who develop life-long learning dispositions through nurturing a strong sense of self and connections to the world around them. We incorporate the basis of the Early Years Learning Framework into our services philosophy:
A Sense of Belonging - We support and guide each child’s quest for knowledge, understanding, individuality and their connectedness to the world around them.
A Sense of Being - Together, in partnership with families, we develop relationships that recognise the diversity of culture and the wider community. This understanding helps to create the framework that underpins every child’s development and eventually, their successful transition to school.
A Sense of Becoming - We aim for every child in our care to have the best possible early education and care experience, each and every day.
Philosophy of Education and Curriculum
C&K Coomera Community Kindergarten aims to provide the local community with an early childhood service that fosters a warm and caring environment for every child in its care.
We acknowledge and respect the central role of the family in a child’s development and encourage collaborative partnerships between the service and the home to ensure each child’s individual learning and development is continued.
We welcome and encourage connections with other community members also.
Educators foster each child’s individual qualities, support their rights and ensure a sense of security, trust and acceptance is maintained within the service. We promote independence, responsibility, self-control and provide opportunities for each child to explore, experiment, and develop at their own pace.
We maintain and regularly review the quality of care offered to the community to ensure the service we provide is appropriate and reflects the needs of the children and their families.
Our curriculum, C&K’s Building Waterfalls supports and acknowledges the overarching principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework.
Our approach is play based – every child has the right to play, to build on their existing learning from home, to extend on their interests and to share their ideas with others. Our program focuses on individual learning outcomes and interests. Consideration is given to the potential of teaching within any given moment through meaningful interactions, continuous observations, reflection, planning and assessment. Each educator reflects upon their teaching practices and processes.
We look forward to welcoming each and every family who would like to visit our service.

Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at C&K Coomera. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoors play and discovery.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Coomera. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.
