Kulila Kindergarten Association Incorporated

Welcome

Kulila Indigenous Kindergarten is a local Murri community business that is run by a community committee body. We have been on our current site since 2010, with over 25 years of service in the Toowoomba community.

We are a single unit Kindergarten with two groups of Kindies, each group can cater for up to 22 children. We run a 5 day fortnight program, qualifying for the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme with the hours provided. We are a Kindergarten approved program. Children are aged from 3.5 years to 5 years old and attend our centre in the year before prep.

Kulila Indigenous Kindergarten offers a daily bus service. The bus hours are 8am-9am and 3.10pm-4.10pm.

Our Philosophy

Learning through Culture.

Children are placed at the very centre of their educational journey here at Kulila. We aim to provide high quality early childhood education and support services through a culturally appropriate setting and aim to give our Kindy children a solid foundation for a successful future.

We seek to provide an early childhood context and program that is based around the approved curriculums within our industry: Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework.

We aim to provide a context that welcomes, values and supports children, families, educators and the wider community of our Kindy children.  We provide a holistic approach to our whole program and centre management.

Kulila Kindergarten takes expressions of interest for current years and future years. A waiting list for upcoming years always has positions available.

Please complete this form and either return it directly to Kulila or email us on kulilakindergarten@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can contact us on 07 4638 2788.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
