Operating Hours and Groups
At Mudjimba Community Kindergarten we have two models of delivery for families to choose from. We operate during QLD school terms.
- Group 1: Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays, 8:25am to 2:35pm
- Group 2: Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays, 8:25am to 2:35pm
Each group has the same 25 children, with the same teacher and 2 educators, that attend for the entire year as a group. As we continuously strive to offer high quality practice, we offer above recommended ratio’s (1:11), having 1 adult to 8 children, further improving outcomes for each child.
We are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.

Our Philosopy
Here at Mudjimba Kindy, we believe that Early Childhood is a period of great significance, to be valued and enjoyed in its own right. We feel we are in a privileged position to share in the responsibility of supporting children as individuals to grow and develop their ability to care about people and the environment, become socially responsible, inventive, embrace challenges and equipped to cope with a changing world.
Each day we follow the directions of the children and adapt our environment, our resources, our routines and ourselves; observing, documenting, listening to and interpreting children’s purposes, processes and ideas so we can gain insight into their thinking, and support their discoveries. We bring our own knowledge, expertise, experience and interests to the program, carefully co-constructing a curriculum that is both planned and spontaneous, that is negotiated and driven to include wider perspectives.
During this time young children will form conceptions of themselves as social beings, as thinkers and as language users and they will have reached certain important decisions about their own abilities and their own worth. We are also forever mindful that this period is here and now and that children have the right to ‘be’ and experience all being three, four or five brings. We are careful to provide time and space to enjoy this stage in their life and development.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at Mudjimba Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at Mudjimba Community Kindergarten. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent input and involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten and programming decisions. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
