Welcome to C&K Ashgrove West Preschool Centre. Our mission at Ashgrove West Preschool is to foster, in partnership with parents, a love of learning where each child can grow socially, emotionally,
physically and intellectually in a secure, child-centred environment. 

Operating Hours

7:15am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday during school terms

Groups

  • Group 1A: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30am - 2:30pm
  • Group 2A: Monday, Tuesday, alternate Wednesdays 8:30am - 2:30pm
  • Group 1B: Thursday, Friday 7:45am - 3:30pm
  • Group 2B: alternate Wednesdays, Thursday, Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm

Before Care available from 7:15am and After Hours Care is available between 2:30pm and 5:30pm Monday to Friday during school terms on a permanent or casual booking basis.

Enrolment Vacancies

Please contact Ashgrove West Preschool with queries about enrolment vacancies. Priority is given to kindy-age children (4 years by 30 June in the year of attendance) based on the waiting list and where residual vacancies exist, pre-kindy age children (4 years by 31 December in the year of attendance) can be enrolled.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities. 

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).

The Management Committee are excited to have finished our fort project from 2020. The children are enjoying playing on the new equipment. 

     

Ashgrove West's daily fees are: 

  • $39.60 per day for 5 day/fortnight group, $49.50 per day for 2 day/week group, and $43 per day for 3 day/week group 

Can I get the concession rate?
The concession is funded by the Queensland and Australian governments. You can get the concession if your child is of eligible age and you:

  • have a valid health care card, or
  • have a valid pensioner concession card, or
  • hold a veteran’s affairs gold/white card, or
  • identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or South Sea Islander, or
  • have had a multiple birth (three children or more) and all children attend kindy.
