Bundaberg Community Kindergarten Association Inc

Welcome to C&K Bundaberg Community Kindergarten.

The first five years of a child's life are vital in helping form who they will be as adults. C&K knows and understands this very well having played a part in the lives of more than a million children over the past century in Queensland. C&K Bundaberg Community Kindergarten has been making a positive impact on children's lives since 1971.

We are a high quality provider of early education and care and we are thrilled that you are considering C&K Bundaberg Community Kindergarten for your child.

We are located at 55A Electra Street, Bundaberg. We are in the centre of Bundaberg, however families are surprised and pleased with the quiet, peaceful surroundings we enjoy every day.

Our service has stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that offer a range of opportunities for children to learn through play and include various forms of technology to stimulate and support learning.

Operating Hours

In 2018 we have new opening hours:

Starfish group: Monday, Tuesday, alternate Wednesdays, 8:30am - 2:40pm.

Jellyfish group: Thursday & Friday, 8:00am - 3:45pm.

In 2018 Bundaberg Community Kindergarten will operate for 41 weeks, during Queensland State School Terms.

Queensland Government Approved Program

We offer a unique kindergarten program based on our own internationally-recognised teaching guidelines - 'Building waterfalls'. Our government approved program is centered around a living and learning community that values children as competent and capable individuals. This play-based curriculum helps children to socialise, build confidence, and develop communication and early literacy and numeracy skills to ensure your child is school ready.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Bundaberg Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team tailor each day's learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is essential to us at C&K Bundaberg Community Kindergarten. Our service is a C&K affiliated service, this means we are managed by a volunteer management committee fostering strong ties and connections with our families in the operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Kindergarten Eligibility

2020 - Children born 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016

2021 - Children born 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children can attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

All C&K centres feature Listening and Learning Together: The C&K Curriculum Approach. The learning outcomes in our approach align with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

Our approach continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators, through written documentation in your centre and through StoryPark (an app and website).
