About our teachers

Charmaine Koch, Early Childhood Teacher / Director, says:

"I love working at C&K Caboolture Community Kindergarten because it has so much character and the trains that go past, right next door to us are exciting to watch.  They are quiet trains these days. I love how we are a standalone centre so that we are not restricted by time frames which gives us flexibility within our program and children can have longer to work on a project if they want to. We can work according to the children's needs and not according to when staff have a lunch break. At C&K Caboolture Community kindergarten we eat with the children and engage in conversation with them. I always look forward to my days with the children here!"

Lillian Beezley, Early Childhood Teacher / Director, says:

"I am a proud descendant of the local Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi people and have been the Teacher / Director of C&K Caboolture Community Kindy for almost 16 years now, and it almost feels like my second home because it does have that homely atmosphere about it. I have seen some amazing changes take place during this time and am proud to be a part of it. I have taught many children and met so many families that these families have returned with siblings almost each year. This year I am proud to say that we have a dad who actually attended in 2002 and has now enrolled his son. One of my fondest memories is of a little boy whose mum came to enrol him and as he was running through the gate he was yelling, "mummy, mummy, they have real grass here!" We still have that real grass in our lovely, big, natural playground for children to explore, run, get dirty, use their imaginations and learn while they are playing."

Hana Galvinova, Inclusion Support Assistant, says:

"The C&K Caboolture Community Kindergarten is a very welcoming and friendly place for all educators, children, families and community. Each year is unique as we build strong relationships with children of different needs and backgrounds. We have a very supportive group of educators, always being happy and positive. The kindy's outdoor environment is just stunning, very open and green, always welcoming adventure play. I am very lucky and proud to be part of the C&K Caboolture Community Kindergarten team."

Corinne Wagner, Assistant Educator, says:

"C&K Caboolture Community kindergarten has an amazing feeling of home. It is a calm and inviting service that prides itself on equality and inclusion."

What our parents say

Alicia says:

"My oldest daughter attended kindy here for two years and absolutely flourished. She went from having huge separation anxiety to being a happy, secure and confident little girl. She has just started prep and is thriving thanks to kindy. Her sister is now attending and is loving it just as much. She looks forward to going every week. I cannot recommend them highly enough particularly in getting your little one ready for prep."

Jaimie-Lee says:

"I can’t recommend C&K Caboolture enough. I have a very shy and clingy mumma's boy who hasn’t been a fan of childcare or kindy in the past, to the point were he wasn’t even talking at his previous kindy! Since being in C&K he has really come out of his shell, being extra chatty and he’s really enjoying his days there. He counts down the days each week until his day care days! The educators at the school have been nothing but amazing in making my son feel really comfortable and secure! And he has learnt so much since he has started! I can’t wait to see how far he comes as the year progresses."

What year should my child attend kindy?

This table shows the year the Queensland government recommends your child attends kindergarten. Children aged 4 years old by June 30 in the year they attend kindy are also called ‘Eligible age’ or ‘Target age’.

Year born Kindy year
1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019 2023
1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 2024
1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021 2025
1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 2026

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).

Am I eligible for the Kindy Plus or Family Tax Benefit subsidy?

Subsidies are funded by the Queensland and Australian governments.  All children of eligible age (turning at least 4 by June 30 in the year they attend kindy) are eligible for a subsidy of $1,500 per year.

Please visit the Kindy savings website and select sessional kindy for Step 1 to check your eligibility for the Kindy Plus and Family Tax Benefit subsidy.

You will need to show proof of your eligibility when you enrol, which will differ depending on the subsidy you are eligible for.

What if I want my 3 year old to go to kindergarten?

Priority is given to eligible-aged children but if there are places available, we are happy to have 3 year old children at kindy and attend for 2 years.  The subsidies do not apply for 3 year old children, and the non-eligible enrolment kindergarten fee will apply.  Please contact us on 07 5499 1588 for more information on fees for 3 year olds and to discuss your child and your family’s situation.

I have more questions.  Who can I talk to?

As a not-for-profit, we aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies.  Please visit our Kindergarten Fees Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.  You can also read more about C&K’s fee policy here.
