Steeped in history, our Kindergarten has been around for over 50 years. In fact, we are a 3rd generation kindy and we're proud to say that we have families where grandparents, parents and children have all passed through our doors.

Here at Caloundra Community Kindergarten we believe that nature is the best environment to nurture children. Not only do we educate sustainability, recycling and encourage waste free lunch boxes, but we have a menagerie of animals on site too; chooks, worms, native bees, frogs, butterflies and a fairy garden.

Our happy, experienced educators provide an amazingly inspirational play based learning environment. The natural space for children to grow.

Together, our staff have nearly 100 years experience delivering learning excellence specifically for 3-5 year old Kindergarten children.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at Caloundra Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team take into account the interests and requests of the children in the group when planning daily activities. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned out and well resourced. Much time is spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.

Our Community is so important to us at Caloundra Community Kindergarten. As the only remaining parent and community managed Kindergarten in the Caloundra area we rely heavily on the generosity of the local community, families and volunteers. We are a registered not for profit charity and have the ACNC tick to indicate our accountability and transparency. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent and other local volunteer involvement in our program. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses, groups, and our local outdoor spaces.

Waiting List

As we are an affiliated service, at Caloundra Community Kindergarten we maintain our own waiting list. Waiting list applications can be made online via our website or in person. A waiting list fee of $10 is payable at the time the waiting list form is completed.

Enrolments are based on a 'first come' basis. Enrolments take place mid-year for the following kindy year. All families on the waiting list will be contacted and offered a place in order.

Nurture - Play - Grow

Our educational program is guided by the Principles and Practices of the Early Years Learning Framework, C&K's Building Waterfalls and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.

Our educators plan learning experiences that offer opportunities for children to explore, problem solve, imagine, create and develop friendships.

Children build on their capabilities in language, literacy, numeracy, science, technology and the arts.

We believe every child has the right play and experience a happy and fulfilling childhood. We honour children developing competencies and contributions to our kindergarten community.

"Play is the highest form of research", Albert Einstein.
