Welcome

Welcome Everyone (Wunya Ngulum)

C&K Caloundra Community Child Care Centre acknowledges and pays its respect to the traditional custodians of the land on which our Centre is placed: the Gubbi Gubbi people. We welcome everyone to come and be a part of our Centre community to learn, love, explore and respect our wonderful natural environment.

C&K Caloundra will now be providing nappies to those attending the service.

Awards

Director Sue O'Brien was the winner of the Service Management Award at the C&K Excellence & Innovation Awards Dinner

This award recognises the work of a Director or Management Committee striving to ensure the ongoing viability of a service and its ability to meet the ongoing needs of the community it serves. The award recognises an individual or group’s work to ensure legislation and governance requirements are met in a consistent and innovative way. The recipient will also demonstrate the provision of consistently high standards of education and care for children, families and community. The award acknowledges the relationship of the service’s management with C&K and other monitoring agencies.

Testimonials

"Just a quick note to say that it's great to hear the positive way you speak to the children in your care. I'm sure they will remember your helpful outlook in years ahead. Kindness I really believe has its start, with the words we choose...Too often what we do as role models for children goes unnoticed so I wanted to lt you know that I appreciate the value within your words. Kind regards from a mum in the centre"

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Caloundra Childcare Centre. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Caloundra. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and to slow down some more to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

C&K has developed a Birth to Three approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

Parent Testimonial

Mollie has been attending Caloundra C & K for 15 weeks now, during this time she has made much progress.
Initially, I found it very difficult upon leaving her as she had separation anxiety being that she had never left my side so it was a huge hurdle for the both of us.  As the weeks have past and Mollie has become familiar with her environment, educators and play friends, she has settled in well.
I am very happy with the service provided as they are very accommodating and always communicate at arrival and pick up times.  I am pleased I have chosen this day care and would highly recommend to other families in the area.
Thanks
Catherine McCall

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising family's out-of-pocket costs. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
