Welcome

Carina Kindy is community kindergarten nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s south side; on the border of Camp Hill and Carina. Our grounds are lush and green with great play equipment and facilities. If you are interested in seeing the kindy please contact us and arrange a time to visit, we would love to meet you!

Our mission is to provide excellence in early childhood education by creating a warm, caring and welcoming environment which affirms the unique worth of each individual. We are licensed under the Education and Care Services Act 2013 and Education and Care Services Regulation.

Our staff consists of two qualified early childhood teachers (Co-Directors) and one qualified assistant. The centre is not for profit and administered by a Management Committee of parents, which is elected at the AGM.

We offer a safe, secure and fun environment for your child to play, grow and learn.  At Carina Kindy we believe a positive and open relationship with families is a vital in providing a positive experience for your child; therefore we will work together with families to provide an environment in which your child will feel comfortable and safe.  We provide a place of learning and care where your child has access to active, play-based learning and developmentally appropriate resources. We have a strong emphasis on children engaging with the environment and being able to exercise choices which match their interests and capabilities.

We are positive your child will enjoy their time here with us and look forward to sharing time with you and your family as well. We offer an open invitation to families to play an active role in the centre and input to our programming.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
