Welcome

Welcome to C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre.

New centre opening in 2023!

C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre is relocating less than 300m from our current site into a brand-new facility within the Carseldine Village precinct.

We anticipate the brand-new facility to be completed early to mid 2023 and will work with all of our families to ensure a smooth transition to the new centre.

The new centre will enable C&K to welcome and cater for more families in 2023 and we encourage families to waitlist now to secure a place for their child.

The space will prioritise nature play and outdoor spaces and feature a full kitchen with an on-site chef preparing fresh meals daily.

Carseldine caters for ages 6 weeks to 5 years and includes a Government Approved Kindergarten operating on long day care hours.

Our wonderful centre director, Harriet Star, and the team at C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre, look forward to welcoming you and your child.

C&K Carseldine embraces C&K's curriculum approach

Listening & Learning Together: The C&K Curriculum Approach; a play based program which encourages children to express their own ideas and understandings in play.

Children's language and social abilities are fostered at our centre as they play with others, engage with materials and ideas and are encouraged to think flexibly and creatively as they seek solutions to conflicts and social understandings.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Carseldine. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Carseldine. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for, and educate our youngest children at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach which we have developed is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

We warmly invite you to place your child’s name on our waitlist (click the pink Enrolment Enquiry button above) and become a part of the C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre. C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

Little site visitors at C&K Carseldine

The children at C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre have been exploring beyond the fence and visiting their new centre, being built less than 300m from their current centre.

After some regular visits where they excitedly inspected the progress, the children were inspired by what they saw at the site to draw and design their ideal playground. Their designs include swings, cubby houses, slides, flowers, water, castles, rainbows and so much more! The builders have some wonderful designs to work with. This supports our children’s agency, giving them an opportunity to make choices and decisions, and impacting their connection to their new centre in a positive way.

The children have also been talking about their future interactions with the residents at Rockpool Residential Aged Care facility, located next door to the new site. They will soon begin to write them letters, invitations, draw pictures and spend time playing with them too.

The children are developing a sense of belonging and connection to the community. By exploring their soon-to-be new environment, they are becoming confident and involved learners. The opportunity to shape their future learning environment and program, is a very special and unforgettable experience for our children.

Construction is well underway and the new centre is due to open in mid-2023. It will be the first C&K childcare centre with a 5 Star, Green Star rating and one of only a select few Early Childhood Education and Care centres to be on the pathway to Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) certification.

Enrol online or book a time to meet our wonderful team. We would love to welcome you and your child to our community!

September 2022

We’re excited to announce that construction of our new childcare centre has begun at Carseldine!

Our current C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre is relocating less than 300m from our current site to a brand-new facility within the Carseldine Village precinct.

Carseldine Village is leading the way to a greener future by setting sustainability benchmarks via new building and construction techniques, improving energy and water systems, creating novel applications for the latest green technologies and reducing waste and carbon emissions.

The new centre will be the first C&K childcare centre with a 5 Star, Green Star rating and one of only a select few ECEC centres to be on the pathway to Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) certification.
C&K is currently working on delivering an evidenced-based intergenerational program, promoting strong and positive outcomes for children that align with the Early Years Learning Framework outcomes and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines. C&K is currently engaging in community and centre-based consultation to ensure a contextual and meaningful intergenerational program is delivered for the children of C&K Carseldine and Rockpool Aged Care Facility residents. The program will be facilitated by qualified early childhood educators and Rockpool staff. Residents taking part in this program will hold blue cards to ensure continuous engagement in best practice while delivering high-quality programs for children.

The new centre is expected to open in mid-2023. If you would like to enrol your child, please join our waitlist!
