Welcome

Welcome to C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre.

C&K Carseldine Community Childcare Centre is a branch service within C&K and is situated on the Brisbane Northside. Close to public transport, Carseldine is nestled within the natural surroundings of the old QUT campus where we enjoy nature, flora and fauna. Set back from the main road, please take the Gate 1 access and follow the driveway to the allocated car park for families, visitors and guests.

The centre, which has been here for 25 years, was previously operated by the QUT Student Guild, and in 2010 transitioned into a C&K branch service.

Carseldine caters for ages 6 weeks to 5 years including Government Approved Kindergarten Program. Children can attend our service throughout their early years as we have a Nursery, Toddler, PreKindy and Kindergarten room. If you are considering placing your child within our service, please fill our an online waiting list form as soon as possible to receive an enrolment offer. We offer personalised tours of our service for anyone enquiring throughout the year and we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about our service. Please give us a call to arrange an appointment.

Carseldine Childcare is an open planned building with high ceilings and Breezair cooling systems. Our surroundings consist of large, natural play spaces including trees and shrubs, a large sandpit, swings, bike tracks, a dry river bed with a water pump and mud patch and a yarning circle courtyard. We adhere to our Sun Safety policy by providing shade sails, shaded veranda areas and numerous foliage.

C&K Carseldine embraces C&K's nationally acclaimed and highly regard curriculum - Building waterfalls; a play based curriculum which encourages children to express their own ideas and understandings in play and through the visual and performing arts.

In process of representation, as they play with others, engage with materials and ideas, children's language and social abilities are fostered. They are encouraged to think flexibly and creatively as they seek salutation to conflicts and problems.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Carseldine. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Carseldine. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for, and educate our youngest children at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach which we have developed is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

Usually C&K offers places at our childcares on a first come, first served basis.
