Welcome

C&K Coolum Community Child Care has been part of the Coolum Community for the past 29 years, opening on the 30th of May 1992. We are nestled in between the Coolum library, Civic centre, and main street of Coolum – a short stroll to the beach.

It is a purpose built spacious 3 room centre. We have an indoor and outdoor program where the children can choose where they would like to play, this also fosters the relationships between siblings who can play together throughout the day.  We provide care and education for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. This includes a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program.

We supply nappies, wipes, and a hat on enrolment.  All food is supplied by Kids Gourmet Food and prepared on site daily. The children have a hot meal daily at lunch time.  We cater for individual family food preferences, children with allergies and food intolerance.

The outdoor environment is extremely important to our daily program. This is a great space for children to explore and play in the natural environment.  We have a large outdoor environment with a sandpit, mud kitchen, bike track, climbing fort, bush tucker garden and small open-ended areas.

Our Educators are experienced qualified early childhood professionals. Our team won the overall C&K Award in 2020 for excellence in curriculum.  Our distributed leadership style ensures all educators are involved in the operations of the centre, decision making and respectful relationships.

We believe it takes a village to raise a child, here at C&K Coolum we become part of your child and family’s village. The curriculum is play based learning guided by The C&K Curriculum approach, EYLF and NQF.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Coolum. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our childcare and  kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Coolum. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of our childcare and kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for, and educate our youngest children at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach which we have developed is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

Enrol now to add your child's name to our waiting list (free). Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis so get in early to secure your place.

We will contact you when a place is available for your child.

Enrol now

C&K has developed a Birth to Three approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

Testimonial:

To all the beautiful teachers. Thank you soooooo much for making our girls time here in Kindy so beautiful! They loved coming here so much, made good friends, learned a lot and had heaps of fun!  We even loved coming here every morning to drop them off. Thanks for sharing all the great moments they have had here, by telling us what they have been up to, taking photos throughout the day and for creating the beautiful book for us. (Portfolio).

We will miss you all heaps. Goodbye and Thankyou, from Hailey, Miya, Jil and Jason.

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising family's out-of-pocket costs. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us on 07 5446 3499.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
