Welcome

C&K Cotton Tree Child Care Centre has been a fixture in the community for 40 years and originally opened its doors in May 1976.

Our centre as been rated as exceeding in all 7 quality areas of the National Quality Standards. It is a purpose built Child Care Centre with 5 rooms. We have a dining room, a great space where the children sit, talk and eat with the educators. The room is also used for celebrations, workshops and special events.

The Centre is situated in the very pleasant community of Cotton Tree. We are nestled between the local Library, tennis court and lawn bowl clubs, diagonal to the centre are the Neighbourhood Centre and the Cotton Tree Community Gardens. The beach and Cotton Tree Surf Club are a pleasant walk down the road, as are the local shops. The local community are supportive with our fundraising ventures and the Centre in return supports the local businesses and purchase goods locally.

There are four specific allocated parking bays directly in front of the Centre. There is additional centre isle parking and parking to the side of the building (which is shared with patrons of the library, tennis and lawn bowl clubs).

Our charity - Support Our Farmers, can be supported by donations of non-perishable foods and toiletries for a hamper. If you would like to donate, please add to the basket in the foyer and Care Outreach will collect.

We look forward to welcoming you to C&K Cotton Tree Community Childcare Centre.

Note: C&K Cotton Tree Child Care provides nappies to children in our Nurseries.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Cotton Tree. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Cotton Tree. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and to slow down some more to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

C&K has developed a Birth to Three approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

News

The Maroochydore Men's shed delivered a 'Water Wall' to the Centre on Thursday 23rd March much to the delight of the children. We spent their morning pouring coloured  water into the chambers and watched it making its way through the various chambers. (Tina, Ballad, Carol and the Makers of the Water Wall watch on).

Look who came out to play today! When the arborist visited to detail  the gum, not 1 but 4 possums were rudely woken and scuttled out of their box to the very tups of the neighbouring paperbark!

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising family's out-of-pocket costs. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
