Esk And District Kindergarten Assn Inc

Welcome

Welcome to C&K Esk & District Kindergarten Ass. Inc.

We are a dedicated Kindergarten, offering quality education and care. We are located at 26 South Street, Esk. Our centre has stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that offer a range of opportunities for children to learn through play.

We operate a 30 hour per fortnight program on Tuesdays, Thursdays and alternating Fridays during the Queensland school term. Children attend from 8:30am to 2:40pm on each day of the program to ensure continuity. Staff may be contacted at the centre from 8:00am - 3:00pm.

We are a not-for-profit community Kindergarten, operated and managed by volunteers, affiliated with C&K and licensed through the Office of Early Childhood Education and Care. At the start of each year, a committee of parent volunteers are elected at the AGM to manage the centre.

We believe that children are competent and capable individuals and their rights are paramount. Our play-based learning provides opportunities for children to explore, solve problems, develop friendships, imagine and create, while also enhancing their language, literacy and numeracy skills.

Outdoor, nature-based connections are highly valued. It is our belief that developing practical, outdoor skills fosters confidence, independence and innovation. The holistic development of all children is supported by educators who observe and facilitate free-play, open exploration and imagination.

It is our aim to encourage active involvement in our Kindergarten community. We embrace the sharing of ideas, skills, experiences and resources. The individual rights of each child, family, staff member and volunteer are respected, valued, protected and promoted. By working together, the educators, management and parents can provide a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow to the best of their abilities.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
