Kuranda Community Kindergarten
At Kuranda Community Kindergarten, your child will feel safe, make friends and belong.
We have a large outdoor setting with lots of trees, a stream and two sandpits. Our kindy room is always open to the outdoors with large windows and four large sliding doors. At our kindy, we celebrate uniqueness, kindness, and working together.
Our language and culture program is woven into everything we do at Kuranda Kindy. We explore many languages, including Djabugay, sign language, and the many different languages and cultures of the families whose children attend our kindy.
Our staff all live in Kuranda and love working at the Kuranda Kindy. We are located in a quiet area next to Kuranda Community Precinct (old school) in the rainforest village of Kuranda.
We have two program groups to choose from, so you can enrol your child in a group that best meets your family's needs. We provide early learning for children aged 3 1/2 years to 5 1/2 years old.
As an affiliated centre of C&K, Kuranda Community Kindergarten receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association managed by a volunteer management committee. Centres affiliated with C&K receive comprehensive support in governance, including managing kindergarten and inclusion funding, training for committees and educators, advice and support regarding inclusion, use of the C&K brand, curriculum approach and resource materials.
George Bowen Memorial Kindergarten
At George Bowen Memorial Community Kindergarten, we pride ourselves in acknowledging and respecting the culture, background and history of each individual child and their families. We want to ensure that each of these individual needs are respected and considered in all aspects of our service. We believe that children learn best through play and need to develop an understanding and respect for themselves and others.
At George Bowen Memorial Community Kindergarten, we offer a 5 day fortnight kindergarten program. Our centre has a free bus service that is available to all George Bowen Memorial Community Kindergarten children who require transport to and from the centre.
As an affiliated centre of C&K, George Bowen Memorial Kindergarten receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association managed by a volunteer management committee. Cooktown Kindergarten
Welcome to C&K Cooktown Kindergarten, a place where play takes centre stage in your child’s education and where children are given lots of time to play, explore, discover, and learn in our beautiful natural spaces and, of course, our very spacious and child-focused indoor setting. We pride ourselves on acknowledging and respecting the culture, background, and history of each individual child and their family, and through deep engagement and interaction, we build on the knowledge that the children and families bring to our kindy. We want to ensure that each of these individual needs are respected and considered in all aspects of our service.
Child Safety is at the heart of all we do at kindy, and we have very strong beliefs, policies and procedures guiding us. We believe that children learn best through play and need to develop an understanding and respect for themselves and others. We help them to develop the skills to become confident, capable, compassionate global citizens who are proud of their own identity and have the confidence to share this.
At Cooktown Kindergarten, we have two kindy groups to choose from. All groups ensure children receive the same number of hours of education across the year. The groups have a maximum of 21 children and are led by an experienced and qualified Early Childhood Teacher. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays and Public Holidays.
Attending kindergarten provides learning opportunities for your child in a safe and nurturing environment, including building relationships with teachers and growing their confidence and social skills to engage with other children. There is also a great opportunity for families to become involved by becoming a part of our Volunteer Committee or through our many fundraising ventures throughout the year.

Coen Kindergarten
Welcome to Coen Kindergarten, where your child will feel safe, make friends and belong. Our teachers and educators focus on nurturing your child's curiosity, building their resilience and developing their confidence - all through the joy of learning through play.
We believe that children learn best through play and need to develop an understanding and respect for themselves and others. We believe families are a child's first place of learning and are critically important in the education of their children.
At Coen Kindergarten, we have one kindy group to choose from. We also offer a Limited Hours Care Program on Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 12:30pm during school terms. This program is open to children aged between 15 months and 5 years. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.
Our centre has a free bus service that is available to all Coen Community Kindergarten children who require transport to and from the centre.

Carpentaria Kindergarten
Welcome to Carpentaria Kindergarten. A place where play takes centre stage in your child’s education and where children are given time to explore, discover and learn! We offer a Government Approved Kindergarten Funded Program in a variety of flexible enrolment options, including a pre-kindergarten program and our unique Bush Kindy program within each of our kindy classes. Our passionate teachers and teaching assistants are highly qualified and experienced. They are experts in teaching children from three to five years and establish a love of life-long learning.
Our purpose-built building and expansive outdoor play spaces are designed to nurture children’s development in a caring community environment. Children have the stability of the same teachers and the same children attending kindy every day of their attendance. This allows us to offer continuity and extension of learning for each child, from one day to the next. Our mission at Carpentaria Kindergarten is to provide children with a play enriched environment and build partnerships with families and the community. We strive for high quality early childhood education and care where we support children to become life-long learners.
At Carpentaria Kindergarten, our kindy group has a maximum of 22 children and are led by an experienced and qualified early childhood teacher. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.
Carpentaria Kindergarten offers a subsidised pre-kindy program for three-year-olds in terms 3 and 4, 2025. To be eligible for this program, children need to have turned three by 30 June 2025.Your three-year-old child can attend Carpentaria kindy's high-quality community kindergarten program alongside four-year-olds. Atherton Kindergarten
Welcome to Atherton Community Kindergarten. A place where play takes centre stage in your child’s education and where children are given time to explore, discover and learn! At Atherton kindy we provide a fun, stimulating and natural environment that will foster learning through real life experiences. We strive to provide a program that is play based but also incorporates intentional teaching, focusing on the needs and interests of the child and accepting and embracing that each child is a unique individual with his/her own pattern of development, temperament and potential for learning.
We are committed to ensuring that our program reflects and meets the needs and interests of the Atherton Tablelands community based on the principles of social inclusion, participation and equity, and we celebrate the diversity within our community. We acknowledge the importance of the Yidinji community in the life of our kindergarten.
