Toogoolawah Kindergarten Assn Inc

Our Kindergarten is a not for profit community operated and managed Kindergarten, affiliated with C&K. Our centre offers an educational program planned and delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher for children in the year prior to Prep, which is children who are at least 4 by June 30 in the year they start kindergarten. Our daily program consists of planned as well as unplanned indoor and outdoor play experiences, language and group time, music and movement sessions, routine situations and rituals.

Everyone in our centre is respected, valued, protected and promoted. It is a safe environment which enables the children to be challenged and stimulated to learn as they play. Planning occurs continuously and collaboratively as children and adults together create opportunities for living and learning.

Our kindergarten consists of 1 group of 22 pre-prep aged children. We operate during Queensland School Term dates and Public holidays. Children attend kindergarten on Tuesdays, Thursdays and alternate Fridays from 8.45am till 2.45pm and are required to enrol for all sessions for continuity of the program.

We encourage you to contact the kindergarten for current vacancies and welcome you to place your child's name down on our waiting list.

There is no charge to place your child's name on the waiting list.

The director takes children in numerical order from the list to fill an vacancy until we have full enrolment.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children can attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

All C&K centres feature Listening and Learning Together: The C&K Curriculum Approach. The learning outcomes in our approach align with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

Our approach continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators, through written documentation in your centre and through StoryPark (an app and website).
