Welcome

Gurumba Bigi!

Tucked away in the leafy suburb of Oxley is our hidden gem. We are proud of our spacious natural outdoor learning environment which has real trees, grass, dirt, leaves, and wildlife such as native birds and possums nesting in the trees. Our nature-based playground inspires challenging and open-ended play where children are provided with uninterrupted time to explore and engage in learning. We respect children as powerful learners, thinkers and theorisers and active citizens.
Our long term, friendly, calm, and engaging Teachers and Educators collaborate to create a supportive and welcoming environment for children, families, and educators. With a strong focus on relationship pedagogy, honouring first nations people, children's rights, professional leadership, community partnerships and social justice & equity, we recognize and respect the early years as pivotal in children's lives.

Community Spirit

We are on Yuggera country! Our reconciliation Action Plan or RAP is a part of our daily lives at C&K Yuingi. Every morning we gather for yarning circle as we sing our acknowledgement of country and raise the flags.  Our children learn about the Yuggera people, and we are blessed to have a First Nations elder Aunty Theresa who visits the children regularly for a yarn and a cuppa.
We encourage family involvement in the daily operations of C&K Yuingi and welcome all family and community members to visit us any time. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Infants & Toddlers Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The infants & toddlers’ approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for our whole community is to “slow down” and then to slow down some more to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with infants and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

Birth to Three Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and to slow down some more to allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising family's out-of-pocket costs. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

I have more questions, who can I talk to?

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us on 07 3278 2092.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
