C&K Oxley Childcare Centre has achieved its second Exceeding rating under the National Quality Standard (NQS), with C&K’s Board Chair and Deputy Chair visiting the centre to recognise the achievement.

The result makes C&K Oxley the latest C&K Branch centre to achieve an Exceeding rating through the Assessment and Rating process.

It also marks an important milestone for C&K, with all C&K Branch centres now rated Meeting or Exceeding the National Quality Standard.

During their visit, Chair Geoff Hirst and Deputy Chair Elizabeth Jameson congratulated Centre Director, Jessica Yu, and her team on the result.

“Achieving an Exceeding rating is a significant accomplishment,” Mr Hirst said.

“It reflects the care, professionalism and commitment of the team at C&K Oxley, and their focus on creating an environment where children feel safe, supported and inspired to learn."

The centre first achieved an Exceeding rating in July 2021 under the leadership of then-Centre Director Tammie Harris, who continues to support C&K Oxley in her current role as an Early Childhood Pedagogical Advisor.

An Exceeding rating recognises services that demonstrate quality practice beyond the standard, with practice embedded in service operations, informed by critical reflection and shaped by meaningful engagement with families and the community.

“The C&K Board is proud to see our centres continuing to deliver consistently high-quality early learning for children and families,” Mr Hirst said.

“Having all our Branch centres rated Meeting or Exceeding the National Quality Standard is an important milestone, and a reflection of the work our people do to support children to learn, grow and flourish.”

Opened in February 2020, C&K Oxley is the only multi-level centre in the C&K network, with licensed places for 114 children across five learning rooms, from Nursery to Kindergarten.

The National Quality Standard sets a national benchmark for the quality of education and care services across seven quality areas, including educational programs and practice, children’s health and safety, relationships with children, and governance and leadership.
