Formal Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course however you will need to complete a language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital Skills test.

C&K College of Early Childhood is not registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), therefore cannot enrol students who hold subclass 485 or 500 student visa.

International Students

C&K College of Early Childhood is not registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Therefore, the College is unable to enrol applicants who hold a subclass 485 or subclass 500 student visa.

Working with Children Check/Blue Card

C&K is a child safe organisation. Prior to enrolment being activated, applicants are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check. In Queensland, the Working with Children Check is known as a Blue Card.

Foundations of Child Safety Training

Prior to enrolment being activated, applicants are required to complete national child safety training. Only one course is approved to meet this requirement, it's FREE and only available through Geccko: national child safety training modules.

Essential Requirements

You must have access to:

  • Internet connection
  • Word Processor, (e.g. Microsoft 356 or Google Docs) for writing and submitting assignments
  • PDF Reader software
  • Printer
  • Scanner or mobile with camera capabilities

Access to C&K specific approaches and pedagogy, policies, procedures, learning material and companion guides.

Trainer & Assessor

Students will be allocated a qualified RTO Educator. All our RTO Educators are experienced early childhood professionals who understand the complexities of working in the Early Childhood Education and Care.

Study Pathways

Completion of this skill set contributes towards meeting the prerequisite entry requirements for CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

This skill set is designed to help individuals who hold an Australian Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, an Australian Diploma in Children's Services, or an Australian Certificate III in Children's Services, who are unable to demonstrate the required 12 months of cumulative employment needed for entry into the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

The Skill Set covers the following units:

  • CHCECE037 – Support children to connect with the natural environment
    • Trainer and Assessor is required to observe and assess the application of skills in practice.
  • CHCECE038 – Observe children to inform practice
    • Observations across the birth to five years age range.
  • CHCECE054 – Encourage understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures

Course Duration

We offer rolling intakes all year round, under the following study mode:

  • Full time, 12 weeks from unit start date/confirmation of enrolment.

Blended delivery, which is predominantly online learning and compulsory practical placement.

Vocational Placement

To achieve the CHCSS00147 Entry to Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, individuals must demonstrate components of each unit in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.

The practical component allows students to put their learning into practice.

Under the Fair Work Act 2009, placement hours are legally permitted to be unpaid as they are an authorised requirement of an approved educational course. Students in paid employment as an Educator can use their employed hours to accumulate placement.

Payments

All payments are to be made to C&K College of Early Childhood; a variety of payment options are available.

Fees are invoiced at the beginning of each study period, based on the number of units issued.

Fees are payable upfront or by an acceptable payment schedule as outlined in our Student Guide (weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments) in our secure payment portal.

This structure allows students to spread the cost of their training across the duration of the course, making it more manageable.
