Welcome to C&K Coolangatta Community Kindergarten.
We are located on Coolangatta school site on the corner of Miles and Stapylton Street.
Our program has close links with the school to ensure a smooth and successful transition into Prep. Each week the children attend the school library and throughout the course of the year attend other functions so that they become familiar with the school environment and staff.
Our service offers a Queensland government approved kindergarten program provided by a qualified early childhood teacher who is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Our kindergarten group has 22 children facilitated by two educators who implement an emergent play based program. Our program caters to children from three to five years of age and is designed to meet each child’s unique interests, needs, development and strengths.
Queensland Government Approved Program
We offer a unique kindergarten program based on our own internationally-recognised teaching guidelines - ‘Building waterfalls’. Our government-approved program is centred around a living and learning community that values children as competent and capable individuals. This play-based curriculum helps children to socialise, build confidence, and develop communication and early literacy and numeracy skills to ensure your child is school-ready.
No two days are the same at C&K Coolangatta. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Coolangatta. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.
