Welcome to C&K Coorparoo Community Kindergarten. We are located in a quiet street off Cavendish Road.

The kindergarten is a branch service of C&K. C&K manages this kindergarten in conjunction with the Director and a Parent Advisory Group (PAG) elected by the parents of children attending the kindergarten. We offer quality education and care for children in the year before they attend prep.
Our kindergarten is unique in it’s double-unit setting. Each unit has separate grounds and facilities. Our beautiful playgrounds are set in a natural tropical environment, which has been developed over 50 years. We continually strive to ensure that both our indoor and outdoor environments are stimulating and offer a range of opportunities for children to learn through play.
In 2011 we celebrated our 50 year anniversary as a C&K service and our kindergarten continues to be an active member of the local community, servicing many generations of families over the years.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Coorparoo. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Coorparoo. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

All C&K kindergartens feature our quality C&K kindergarten program.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. If spaces are available, the program is also offered to 3-year olds. C&K’s kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, and resilience.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, so we approach learning as a collaborative relationship between teachers, children and parents. At C&K we believe children are powerful learners, active citizens, thinkers and theorisers - this is at the heart of our early childhood curriculum. We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations and nurture healthy minds and bodies.

At C&K Coorparoo the core kindergarten program is led by a university-qualified, Early Childhood Teacher:

  • Kirstie Tolley
  • Emily Capern

Supported by assistant educators: Gaye Buchanan and Shae O'Brien.

There will be a half-hour overlap between the core kindergarten program lead and the extended program lead educator each day. Educators will share highlights and continuing plans for the day.

The extended program continues children’s learning into the afternoon and is led by a diploma-qualified educator and supported by an assistant educator. The extended program team will also have access to an Early Childhood Teacher.

Your child’s learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child’s educators, through written documentation and through StoryPark (an app and website).
