Welcome to C&K Murgon Community Kindergarten.

C&K Murgon Community Kindergarten has been rated as EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards. We are proud to have been the mainstay of Early Childhood Education for over 40 years.

In that time, over one thousand children have spent their Kindy years with us. We believe that the early years are a formative and wonderous time in every child's life. We would love to share your child's learning journey with your family, so feel free to visit our Kindy anytime during our morning playtime.

Great Start to Kindergarten Pre-kindy Program 2022

C&K has been successful in securing funding from the Queensland Department of Education for the Great Start to Kindergarten Pre-kindy Program. This program provides funding for community kindergartens selected by the Department to offer no-cost or low-cost three-year-old programs in terms 3 and 4 in 2022.

To be eligible for the funding, children need to have turned three by 30 June 2022.

C&K Murgon Community Kindergarten is offering a no-cost Playgroup program for three-year-olds in terms 3 and 4, 2022.

Please contact the National Translating and Interpreting Service to support families with enrolments, inclusion, and medical needs forms. This service provides clarity to help remove language barriers that impact the child's needs.

Playgroup for three-year-olds

Playgroup at C&K Murgon Community Kindergarten is a safe and engaging space for children and their families and will support families to continue to play an active role in children's learning. Parents or caregivers attend the playgroup with their children and are an important part of the program.

The playgroup program enables social connection, access to play-based learning experiences, and pathways to community support. In a welcoming and understanding space, the focus is on family with an emphasis on the learning and developmental needs of children and supporting parents and caregivers to assist their child's learning.

After attending playgroup at C&K Murgon Community Kindergarten, three-year-old children will be supported in their transition to the kindergarten program in 2023.

Younger children are welcome to attend with their older sibling.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our services and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.

We aim to keep fees affordable for families and has developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies. Read more about C&K's fee policies.
