Welcome to Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten. A place where play takes centre stage in your child’s education and where children are given time to explore, discover and learn! Our passionate teachers and teaching assistants are highly qualified and experienced. They are experts in teaching children from three to five years and establish a love of life-long learning. Our purpose-built building and expansive outdoor play spaces are designed to nurture children’s development in a caring community environment. Children have the stability of the same teachers and the same children attending kindy every day of their attendance. This allows us to offer continuity and extension of learning for each child, from one day to the next. Our mission at Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten is to provide children with a play enriched environment and build partnerships with families and the community. We strive for high quality early childhood education and care where we support children to become life-long learners.

Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten is a welcoming, not-for-profit kindergarten located in Mount Isa, offering a calm, inclusive and play-based learning environment where every child is valued and supported to thrive. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and respected. Our experienced teaching team works closely with families to create a nurturing, home-like environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

A highlight of our program is Bush Kindy, where children learn through outdoor and nature-based experiences such as gardening, caring for chickens, using real tools safely, exploring the local environment and developing a strong connection to Country. These experiences build confidence, resilience, curiosity and wellbeing.

Estelle Cardiff is committed to inclusive practice, recognising and celebrating each child’s strengths, interests, culture and identity. We work in partnership with families and community services to ensure all children feel a sense of belonging and are supported to learn and grow at their own pace. At Estelle Cardiff, children are known, supported and encouraged to develop a lifelong love of learning within a strong, caring community.

At Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten, we have two kindy groups to choose from - The Brolga and Emu groups. All groups ensure children receive the same number of hours of education across the year. The groups have a maximum of 22 children and are led by an experienced and qualified early childhood teacher. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.

Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten offers a subsidised or FREE pre-kindy program for three-year-olds in term 3 and 4, 2026 (if positions are available). To be eligible for this program, children need to have turned three by 30 June 2023.

Your three-year-old child can attend Estelle Cardiff kindy's high-quality community kindergarten program alongside four-year-olds. Attending kindergarten provides learning opportunities for your child in a safe and nurturing environment, including building relationships with teachers and growing their confidence and social skills to engage with other children.

As an affiliated centre of C&K, Estelle Cardiff Community Kindergarten receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association managed by a volunteer management committee. Centres affiliated with C&K receive comprehensive support in governance, including managing kindergarten and inclusion funding, training for committees and educators, advice and support regarding inclusion, use of the C&K brand, curriculum approach and resource materials.
