Welcome to C&K North Caloundra

At C&K North Caloundra Community Child Care, we welcome children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old and provide care and early learning five days a week from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

As a home away from home, our environment provides a safe, secure and supported space for your child. Our dedicated, friendly and qualified staff nurture play-based learning, fostering a life-long love of learning. Our families love our large natural outdoor area, where we encourage children to explore, discover, play and engage in nature.

We have a wide range of cultural and linguistic background with our families and staff. This provides us the opportunity to incorporate these cultures and languages throughout the centre. Our approach to inclusion and diversity ensures that every child, family and staff member feels safe, welcomed and important.

Each day children are provided with tasty nutritional meals, this includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Mealtimes are a wonderful social experience where educators and children are able to sit and discuss plans and discoveries as well as learn a little more about each other.

Nappies are provided for all children who are not yet toilet trained or are in the process of toilet training. When you are ready for your child to progress to toileting independence, our staff are more than willing to support you and your child on this journey.

Infant and Toddler Approach

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Infant and Toddler approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child to allow them the opportunity to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K North Caloundra. Each day's learning is driven by the interests of the children. The spacious and natural environment in our centre is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature, and visual arts, in addition to time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K North Caloundra. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.

All C&K childcare centres feature the quality C&K kindergarten program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are guided by University qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, children and parents. The physical indoor and outdoor environment also plays a part. At C&K we believe children are competent and capable learners, and approach our education program with this in mind.

The staff at C&K North Caloundra are what makes the difference for us. They are genuinely warm and caring and the team always goes out of their way to make sure our boys (who are from a non-traditional family unit) feel included and represented in all activities. The centre is well resourced and has a great outdoor play area which the kids love. The teachers are passionate and caring and I'm always in the loop with where my kids are at.  At the end of  the day you want to be sure your kids are in good hands and that they are happy and learning. I'm confident my boys are getting all of this - they always come home happy and full of great stories to share about their days at C&K North Caloundra.

My son has been a part of the C&K North Caloundra Community Childcare for over 2 years, and we love it!!!!
The team here are friendly, caring, compassionate, and so very approachable. They go above and beyond, and in particular Kathryn and Ros, whom have been instrumental in helping my son with his eye condition and corrective patching. Not only does this centre deliver a creative and fun learning environment, it also focuses on diversity and culture bringing together a well rounded curriculum. My son loves the special event days where guests come to perform, teach and share their experiences with the children.
If you are looking for an environment where your child feels supported, nurtured, and has a whole heap of fun, then I would highly recommend C&K North Caloundra.

Rooms and age groups

Most C&K childcare centres follow the below age groups for each room, but this may vary between centres:

  • Nursery: 6 weeks to 18 months
  • Toddlers: 18 months to 2 years old
  • Pre-kindy: 2 to 3 years old
  • Kindy: 3 to 5 years old

What subsidies are available?

The Australian Government helps eligible families with the cost of childcare via the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). For more information, please visit Services Australia.

The Queensland Government also provides funding for eligible-aged children (children turning 4 by 30 June, in the year they attend a kindy program), attending a centre delivering a government-approved kindergarten program. If eligible, you could receive up 15 hours of free kindy per week.

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help eligible families access and maximise the CCS, and minimise out-of-pocket fees. Our 9 and 10 hours sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

I have more questions, who can I talk to?

As a not-for-profit, we aim to keep fees affordable for families and have developed a fee system to maximise family access to available subsidies.  Please visit our Childcare Fees page for more information.  You can also read more about C&K’s fee policy here.
