Induction Training

If you are a student, volunteer or contractor for C&K, you are required to complete induction and compliance training. Please click the button below to access the training.

National Early Childhood Worker Register

C&K is required to upload employee, student and volunteer information into the National Early Childhood Worker Register.

National Child Safety Training

Following amendments to the Education and Care Services National Law, approved providers must ensure that teachers, educators, students and volunteers working in education and care services complete the new mandatory National Child Safety Training.

The foundation training modules are available now, with completion required in accordance with the legislated timeframes.

C&K is not delivering this training. The training is available on Geccko, the Australian Government - Department of Education's online learning platform for the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

To access the training, you will need to register an account with Geccko using your email address.

Foundation Training Information

Foundation Training
  • Available from 27 February 2026 on the Geccko learning management system
  • Free to complete
  • Mandatory for all centre staff, including casual teachers and educators, students and volunteers
  • Approx. 2 hours to complete; can be completed across several sessions

 

Complete as soon as possible, but no later than 27 August 2026

Take care of your health and wellbeing

While the training is thoughtfully designed with content warnings, wellbeing breaks, and support information built in, this training may raise difficult feelings or personal experiences for some people. Please prioritise your own wellbeing.

Provide C&K with your 'Certificate of Completion'

The Foundation Training takes approximately two hours and can be completed across multiple sessions at a time that suits you. While the deadline for the Foundation Training is 27 August 2026, we encourage you to complete it as soon as possible.

Student and Volunteers who have not completed the Foundation Training and submitted their Certificate of Completion by 27 August 2026, will be unable to continue their work with C&K. 

After completing the training module:

  1. Download and print your 'Certificate of Completion' from your Geccko Completion’s page.
  2. Existing Students and Volunteers: Submit a copy to whs@candk.asn.au
  3. New Students and Volunteers: Provide your certificate with your documentation to register with C&K.

What is the National Child Safety Training and why is it mandatory?

The National Child Safety Training is part of several National and Queensland Child Safety Reforms being introduced throughout 2026. It is a mandatory legislative requirement for everyone in the early childhood education and care sector, including students and volunteers. 

Where do I access the training?

The training is available on Geccko, the Australian Government - Department of Education's online learning platform for the early childhood education and care sector. C&K does not deliver this training. You can register for a personal Geccko account via the Geccko registration link.

I'm experiencing technical issues with the Geccko platform — who do I contact?

If you encounter any technical issues with registering, accessing, or completing your training on Geccko, contact the Geccko Help Desk directly geccko@education.gov.au. The Geccko Help Desk is best placed to assist with any platform-related problems, including login difficulties, course access issues or trouble downloading your Certificate of Completion. 

What stages of the training do students and volunteers need to complete?

The National Child Safety Training will be released in two stages across 2026:

  • Foundation Training – available from 27 February 2026
  • Advanced Training – available from 1 July 2026

Students and Volunteers are only required to complete the Foundation training module

Who is required to complete the Foundation Training?

All centre staff, including students and volunteers, must complete the Foundation Training. The deadline is 27 August 2026, though you are encouraged to complete it as soon as possible.

Who is required to complete the Advanced Training?

The Advanced Training is mandatory for all centre staff who work directly with children, including casual employees but not mandatory for students and volunteers. It must be completed by 31 December 2026.

How long does each stage of training take?

  • Foundation Training: Approximately 2 hours, which can be completed across several sessions.
  • Advanced Training: Approximately 4 to 6 hours, which can also be completed across several sessions.

Is the training free?

Yes, both the Foundation Training and the Advanced Training are free to complete on the Geccko platform.

What happens if I don't complete the Foundation Training by the deadline?

Students and volunteers who have not completed the Foundation Training and submitted their Certificate of Completion by 27 August 2026 will not be able to work or volunteer for C&K.

How do I submit my Certificate of Completion to C&K?

After completing each training module:

  1. Download and print your Certificate of Completion from your Geccko Completions page.
  2. Existing Students and Volunteers: Submit a copy to whs@candk.asn.au
  3. New Students and Volunteers: Provide your certificate with your documentation to register with C&K
