Absolutely! It's never too late to start kindy.
Many families wonder whether there's any point in enrolling their child in kindergarten if we’re already halfway through the year. Our answer is always – it’s never too late to start kindy!
Every day a child spends at kindy is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build valuable skills that support their development now and into the future. Whether your child starts at the beginning of the year or joins in Term 3 or 4, they'll benefit from engaging learning experiences, social interactions, and support from a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and Educators.
Why starting kindy in Term 3 still matters
Kindergarten provides children with opportunities to:
Children learn and develop at their own unique pace, and teachers and educators are experienced in helping new children settle into the program and feel welcome, regardless of when they start.
Everyday counts
Research consistently shows that quality early childhood education supports children's learning, well-being, and future educational outcomes. In C&K learning communities - critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity is valued and encouraged as children observe, wonder, think, explore, challenge and problem solve to co-construct meaning with and alongside others. If circumstances have delayed your child's start to kindy this year, there's no need to wait until next year. Even a single term of kindergarten can provide meaningful opportunities for children to practise important social, emotional, and learning skills before they begin school.
Making the transition easy
Beginning kindy later in the year is more common than many families realise. Educators work closely with children and families to help new starters settle into the environment, build relationships with teachers and their peers, and become part of the group.
Every child's journey is unique, and our team is here to support your family every step of the way.
