Welcome

C&K Ascot Community Kindergarten respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our service is placed. C&K Ascot Community Kindergarten also pays our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging.

Give your child a great start to their education and become a part of our Kindergarten community.

C&K helps to create a lifelong love of learning and supports’ your child’s transition into school. We provide a curriculum/play-based, pre-prep program, lead by 4 year qualified teachers. C&K Ascot has beautiful, large landscaped gardens and inspiring indoor learning environments. Parents are an integral part of our community and are always welcome to contribute to the educational program.

Children are active collaborators and contributors to their own learning and to that of others. We value being open and sensitive to new possibilities and perspectives, and encourage the children to be kind, caring and respectful of each other as they learn how to live, play and work together harmoniously.

Our young children are capable thinkers, investigators and inquirers. They come to kindergarten with a range of prior experiences and understanding of the world them. They present with differing abilities and interest, languages, cultural heritage and traditions.

We celebrate our diversity and embrace our differences, for we are all special in our own individual way.

Additional Needs Assistants are employed as required in accordance with C&K’s policy of equity and opportunity for all children.

Child-Led Learning

No two days are the same at C&K Ascot. Our teaching team tailors each day’s learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious and natural environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and we allocate plenty of time for outdoor play and discovery.

Community Spirit

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Ascot. We foster strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us and taking the children on excursions out into the local community.

All C&K kindergartens feature our quality C&K kindergarten program.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. If spaces are available, the program is also offered to 3-year olds. C&K’s kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children’s curiosity, creativity, and resilience.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, so we approach learning as a collaborative relationship between teachers, children and parents. At C&K we believe children are powerful learners, active citizens, thinkers and theorisers - this is at the heart of our early childhood curriculum. We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations and nurture healthy minds and bodies.

At C&K Ascot the core kindergarten program is led by a university-qualified, Early Childhood Teacher:

  • Linda Stone

Supported by assistant educator: Angela Frederick

There will be a half-hour overlap between the core kindergarten program lead and the extended program lead educator each day. Educators will share highlights and continuing plans for the day.

The extended program continues children’s learning into the afternoon and is led by a diploma-qualified educator and supported by an assistant educator. The extended program team will also have access to an Early Childhood Teacher.

Your child’s learning journey is shared with you via  conversations with your child’s educators, through written documentation and through StoryPark (an app and website).
