Welcome to C&K Oonoonba Community Kindergarten in Townsville. We are located on the Oonoonba State School grounds on Lakeland Boulevard, Idalia. Our kindergarten runs 40 weeks per year, during the state school terms.
We offer quality education and care for children aged in the year before they attend Prep.
Our government approved kindergarten program is based on a living and learning community that sees children as being competent and capable.
Our play-based program assists children to socialise, build confidence, develop communication and early literacy and numeracy skills to prepare children for the next stage of their schooling and our focus is on developing a love of learning.
Our Teacher / Director, Sharon is a degree qualified Early Childhood teacher working with Co-educator, Sue, a diploma qualified assistant.
Access to the kindergarten is via the Oonoonba State School staff carpark with gates located on Lakeland Boulevard.
Being on a school site provides many opportunities for children to experience what school life is about through our transitions program. The children benefit from attending Life Education, attending the ANZAC DAY service, Under 8s Day, school Sports Day and visits to the school library and tuckshop later in the year.
We encourage you to arrange a visit and enrol early. We look forward to welcoming your family to our centre.
No two days are the same at C&K Oonoonba Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Oonoonba Community Kindergarten. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
