Kindergarten with Extended Hours We know our families need flexibility. At selected C&K kindergartens, we offer extended hours and holiday programs. How Kindergarten with Extended Hours Works Community kindergarten that works with your family’s schedule. Our kindergarten program is led by a university qualified early childhood teacher, supported by assistant educators, and ends between 2pm and 2:45pm (depending on the centre). The extended hours program commences from the end of the kindergarten program and continues the children's learning into the afternoon until 6pm or later.The extended hours program is led by a diploma qualified educator and supported by an assistant educator. There is a half hour overlap between the kindergarten program and the extended hours program to allow our teams to share highlights and continuing plans for the day.During the Queensland school holidays, C&K Kindergarten with Extended Hours also operates a full-day holiday program, five days a week. Extended hours and holiday program fees Kindergarten with Extended Hours have been approved for the Australian Government's Child Care Subsidy (CCS). The amount of subsidy you can get depends on your family's circumstances, please contact Services Australia.The Queensland Government also provides free kindy, a funding initiative that enables families with eligible age children (turning 4 by 30 June in the year they attend kindergarten) to access 15 hours of free kindergarten per week. The subsidy is provided for 40 weeks/600 hours per calendar year.Free kindy is applied during the four school terms. The free kindy subsidy does not apply to the extended hours portion of the day or during the holiday program. Eligible families can continue to claim the CCS for these times.Please see individual centre's web pages for more detailed information about fees.
