Welcome
Welcome to C&K Oakleigh Community Kindergarten, located on the grounds of Oakleigh State School in the leafy Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove.
A kindergarten with a rich history, the centre was first established in 1930 as Ashgrove Kindergarten and has been located at a number of different locations in Ashgrove and The Gap. The current building opened in January 2011, located on the school’s former netball court. The school has generously allowed us to expand our outdoor space and develop unused land, giving us a total area of one acre. There is a developing focus on the outdoor environment and in creating a family-friendly space.
Our unique outdoor learning environment – complete with large climbing net – provides ample opportunities for nature play, offering children rich learning experiences to explore and play in the natural playground settings.
C&K Oakleigh Kindergarten has 22 children per class with two educators who implement an emergent play based program. Through our programs your child will be assisted to develop their independence and self help skills, gross and fine motor skills, social and cognitive skills and their understanding of the building blocks of literacy and numeracy.
On and off-street parking available.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at C&K Oakleigh Community Kindergarten. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Oakleigh Community Kindergarten. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
