Kindergarten program details
At Chelmer-Graceville Kindergarten, we have two kindy groups to choose from. All groups ensure children receive the same number of hours of education across the year. The groups have a maximum of 22 children and are led by an experienced and qualified early childhood teacher. We operate during QLD school terms and are closed for school holidays, public holidays and some pupil free days.
- Group 1A: Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays, 8:30am to 2:40pm
- Group 1B: Thursday and Friday, 8:15am to 4:00pm
We also offer a Flex Group, which runs on alternate Wednesdays from 8:30am to 2:40pm.
About our kindy
Welcome to Chelmer-Graceville Kindergarten. A place where play takes centre stage in your child’s education and where children are given time to explore, discover and learn! We offer quality education and care for children aged in the year before they attend Prep. We are a dedicated kindergarten so your child will take part in a structured program with other children their age.
We are conveniently located next to Graceville State School. Our service has stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that offer a range of opportunities for children to learn through play.
C&K Affiliated Centre
As an affiliated centre of C&K, Chelmer-Graceville kindy receives support from C&K as the Central Governing Body but operates as an independent incorporated association, managed by a volunteer management committee. Centres affiliated with C&K receive comprehensive support in governance including managing kindergarten and inclusion funding, training for committees and educators, advice, and support regarding inclusion, use of the C&K brand, curriculum approach and resource materials.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at Chelmer-Graceville kindy. Our teaching team tailor each day’s learning taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at Chelmer-Graceville kindy. We foster our strong ties to the local community by encouraging parent input and involvement in the daily operations of the kindergarten and programming decisions. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
